It was another outstanding educational endeavor as over 63 delegates gathered at the Aboujaoude Hospital’s Auditorium for a live stream transmission of ISUOG’s basic training course from ISUOG’s Annual Congress in Rome. The Basic Training Course was being transmitted all over the globe, with various satellites set up, in addition to Lebanon’s SANA/Aboujaoude Satellite.

 

There was a unique mix of attendees who came from all over Lebanon. There were Radiologists, Ob/Gyn physicians, residents from both Radiology and Ob/Gyn programs as well as midwives. Of note is that for the first time, 11 of SANA’s trainees were in attendance.

The session commenced at 0845 where SANA’s Reem S. Abu-Rustum, MD, introduced ISUOG, its mission, outreach and programs and presented SANA Medical NGO’ goals and accomplishments. She gave an overview of the course and the process to ensure that the delegates receive ISUOG’s Core membership and ISUOG Attendance Certificates after the course. In addition, all trainees receive ISUOG’s free 2 year trainee membership.

The pre-test was then taken by the attendees as the connection was established directly with Rome and then it was a brilliant succession of comprehensive lectures given by world-leaders in the field: Drs. Abuhamad, Chudleigh, Cohen-Overbeek, Haak, Johnson, Moe Eggebo, Valentin and Youssef presented brilliant lectures covering all the basic aspects of scanning in Ob/Gyn. And though this was the 5th live-streaming activity, it was again surreal to be seemingly present at the World Congress all the way from the comforts of the Aboujaoude Auditorium in Lebanon! The experts managed to leave the delegates with a wealth of practical tips and pearls which were the result of vast expertise condensed in the most comprehensible manner.

 

In addition, the delegates were able to communicate with faculty members via live stream posting question and receiving live feed back.

 

And yet again, the feedback was wonderful, reinforcing SANA/Aboujaoude’s commitment to such educational activities, enabled by ISUOG, its futuristic vision and its amazing secretariat!
